Ctg BCL leader hacked

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was hacked by unidentified assailants in his house at Fatikchhari upazila in Chittagong yesterday.

Imrul Islam Rafi, 30, an assistant office secretary of Chittagong north district unit BCL, was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) following the incident, family sources say.

Rafi was sleeping when some 10 armed men broke into his house and stabbed him, said Ikbal Hossain, brother-in-law of the victim.

Jakir Hossain Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station, said a case was filed in this connection and drive is underway to arrest the criminals.
