Fabrace turned BCB down?

BCB claims that they are still trying to secure the services of Paul Fabrace for the currently vacant head coach role despite being turned down by the current England assistant coach.

ESPNcricinfo has reported that BCB were interested in Fabrace and even last week they were certain that he would accept their offer but once they sent a contract his way, the England No.2, currently working under Trevor Bayliss, informed BCB that he was unable to join the Tigers.

ESPN report suggested that both the BCB and Fabrace had declined to comment on the matter.

On March 7 the BCB president had informed that a head coach had been finalized but he was unwilling to reveal the name of the coach who he said was a high-profile professional.

“We have finalised our head coach who is expected to join the Bangladesh team by the first week of April. At the moment I am not going to disclose the name but I can say that he is a well known figure, not someone unknown like Chandika Hathurusingha,” Hassan had said.

But on March 11 he was more subdued in his reply of coach appointment and said that BCB will finalise coach after the end of the Nidahas Trophy and even talked about interviewing two or more aspirants for the head coach role.

“We will finalise it after this series. We have invited them for interviews. We might have two or three aspirants,” the president said afterwards.

Fabrace has been working his magic with the England cricket team especially in their white ball fortunes as they managed to win nine out of their last 10 bilateral series.
