At the beginning of each year, I see people around me setting goals like “Will fight two tigers with bare hands” and it makes me feel bad about making certain life choices (i.e. keeping them around me). I too, after succumbing to peer pressure, proceed to make lists of things that I will stop following after a week. This year, I was resolute with my resolution and for this reason, I decided to try out a habit tracker app on my phone.
Loop, currently available in android platform, is a free habit tracking app that lets you set goals, and remind you lest you forget. I honestly like how easy it is to use and how pretty the interface looks. It lets you set as many goals as you like, shows your progress using graphs, and you also get to colour code your goals. To motivate you to achieve your goals, it has a scoring system. You cannot set numerical goals like “Drink 8 glasses of water a day” and mark it every time, but for general goals, this app is a really good option.
I am already in favour of installing this app. Why, you ask? This year, it took me 10 days to stop following my goals and checking the app, which I believe is a great improvement. I strive to do better next year.
