Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and the Information Commission signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday to implement the Right to Information Act (RTI) 2009 effectively through public awareness and capacity building.

Under the MoU, both the organisations will work on youth engagement, media communications and publication, and capacity building of the designated officials, and will observe the international day to promote the RTI.

Chief Information Commissioner Prof Dr Golam Rahman and TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman signed the MoU at the Information Commission office in the capital, said a press release.

The validity of the MoU will remain effective till September 30, 2019, and the time will further be extended if both the parties agree, said the release.
