Sewerage worker goes missing in Mirpur manhole

A sewerage worker went missing after entering a manhole to clean a drainage system near Chalantika intersection on Milk Vita Road in Mirpur-7 in the capital yesterday afternoon.

A group of sewerage workers went down the manhole to clean the line, said M Abdullah Al Arefin, senior station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

All except one worker, aged around 20, subsequently came out, Arefin said.

Following this, his colleagues informed Fire Service and Civil Defence.

However, fire fighters could not find the missing worker till filing of this report at 9:20pm, said Arefin.
