A probe body formed over the police action that led to the loss of eyesight of a college student in Shahbagh filed its report before authorities today.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner Mir Rezaul Alam told The Daily Star the report was filed at the DMP office this morning.

However, he denied commenting on the contents of the report. “Only the DMP commissioner can inform the press about the findings of the report,” he said.
Titumir College Siddiqur Rahman was allegedly hit by a tear gas canister fired by police at close range during a demonstration at Shahbagh. Videos of the police action are available.

However, police were in denial that a cop action could have led to such an incident.
Lastly, Siddiqur, who had already lost complete vision of his right eye, underwent a surgery on his left in India with slim hopes of regaining sight.
Bangladesh government bore the medical expenses of Siddiqur.
