CU student being 'counselled' for playing game

A Chittagong University (CU) student was taken into police custody on Tuesday for "playing the 'Blue Whale Challenge' game".

He is a first year student of history department, said a press release of police without giving further details. According to the release, Rajon (not his real name) clicked on a link sent to his Facebook Messenger.

“After clicking, the game was automatically installed on his mobile phone,” claimed police, adding that Rajon had so far faced at least four challenges of the game out of 50.

But somehow one of his seniors at his dormitory came to know about the matter and informed police seeking their help, police said.

Later, a team of police led by ASP Abdullah Al Masum of Hathazari Circle picked up the student and took him to their custody. He was being "counselled", said Additional SP of Chittagong (North) Mosiuddola Reza.
