4.6kg of gold found in airport

Customs officials recovered 40 gold bars, weighing 4.6 kilogrammes, from a US-Bangla Airlines flight at Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday.

The preventive team of Dhaka Customs House carried out a search at flight "BS322" and recovered two stacks of gold bars, worth Tk 2.30 crore, said a press release. The flight came from Muscat and landed at the airport around 7:00 am. Wrapped up with scotch tape, the two bundles were found hidden under the foam cushion of two passenger seats.
