Starting today, from September 7-12, Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Shangstha will complete their district wide preliminary competition. Participants chosen from the preliminary rounds will go on to take part in the final national level competition, which is to be held in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy September 15-17, says a press release.
BNSS has been one of the anchoring organisations for dancers in the country. Since its establishment in 1978, BNSS has served the country's audience with widespread dance shows, dance dramas and cinema related performances. Since 2014, the institution has spread its branches throughout the whole country, with full support from BSA.
Through these countrywide competitions, it has been observed by BNSS that dancers outside of the city are no less than those hailing from Dhaka. Dancers from different districts are now finding their place in the limelight. BNSS is trying to give them the adequate amount of exposure and training to kick-start their careers as full-fledged dance artistes.
On September 18, the chosen winners of the national level competition will be presented with the awards, after which a dance performance will be presented at the National Theatre Hall of BSA, thus concluding this year's country-wide age and theme based dance competition of 2017.
